Life-Sized Periodic Table Project
You will turn in your project by end of class _________
Description: Create a life-sized periodic table as a class. Each student will be assigned one element and must include the required information for their element.
Each Periodic Group will have a specific colored paper so be sure to get the correct color matching your element's group number.
Element Information:
The first four items are required and MUST be placed on ALL elements. Other items are suggestions and may be found for some elements and not for others. These are only suggestions, feel free to add any other interesting information you find for your element. Make sure it is clear what information you are talking about (don’t just put a number. Tell me what the number is and include units if necessary.)
Grading:
This will count as a test grade. You will turn in 2 items – your completed element page and a clearly/legibly written list of information on your element page. You will be graded on the completeness and accuracy of your information as well as your creativity and neatness of your page.

***NOTE: On your typed list you will include the website that you got your information off of as a reference (if you used one). This is a part of your grade so do NOT use wikipedia as a reference. You can start your search there and then go to a legitimate website as a true reference. ***

- Element symbol and Name
- Atomic Number
- Atomic Mass
- Diagram of atom with protons, neutrons, and electrons (Bohr model)
- Physical state at room temperature
- Common uses
- Melting/boiling points
- Origin of name or symbol
- Name of group (family)
- Sources of the element
- Metal, nonmetal, or metalloid
- Physical properties
- Abundance in Earth’s crust
- Cost per lb, g, oz, etc.
- Date of discovery and discoverer

- You must include 10 pieces of information in your project. The first 4 are required so you chose 6 other pieces of information to include in your project.
- You will be given a piece of colored paper that corresponds with your element. All of your information must go on the front of that paper so be organized.
- CREATIVITY COUNTS! Be creative in this. Add aspects to your paper that distinguish your element from the other elements (ex: uranium is radioactive so put the radioactivity symbol on it, a soda can is a great example of aluminum). 3D creativity is an aspect of this project (see rubric below)!
